"And I pray that you no longer seek happiness from the past, but rather you set your sails forward, to a land that is pure and wonderful. I pray that you no longer stare into the shallows of empty promises, but that you dive into the depth of an ocean of guarantees. May you feel the winds of hope, and smell the scent of joy, may your heart be alive again as it was meant to be. For you are with a better captain, you are with a true sailor, a true leader; You are sailing with Christ, and He is always sure to lead us home."
CPS: Chicago Public School System
I read an ask ( more like a statement) on a blog that I started following. An anon stated the schools in Chicago aren’t getting defunded and I thought do you read or watch anything non bias on Chicago ? The fact is the W Bush era created no child left behind with the sole purpose to defund underperforming schools and thus pressuring schools to perform better on state mandated test. However, it is inner city schools which perform poorly on these test. Furthermore, these schools already receive less funding from their respective Board of Education than schools in affluent areas making access to higher scores on test difficult for teachers to help students attain. Chicago has had years of school closures and now students go to extremely overcrowded schools and still have not acquired access to resources afforded other by students. Regardless if believe the schools aren’t being defunded, I’m pretty sure when a school is closed its funding is not then given to a struggling or borderline school. The fact is cities like New York and Chicago had a hard enough time just finding a budget to plow snow last winter. What makes you think they have a budget for poor inner city kids and their education? Last I heard Chicago at the end of each school year has a list school closures and struggling schools. Parents go to meeting praying their neighborhood school is not closed. Schools are also placed on probation according to these Bush era policies and given a score card according to testing each year , as if what a child learns can be based on standardized test meant to value certain types of intelligence (another time). For those interested in the crap and truth of the situation Chicago is facing I will post some links.
Why is it that old wives tales are called old wives tales
When old men’s tales are called religion and philosophy?
